
“The Power of Your Personality” is an excellent tool for developing communication and interpersonal skills in any environment. Whether it be in the workplace, family, or with friends and associates the information is invaluable in helping one to manage their relations with people more effectively. Starting with my own assessment, I was enlightened by how my own mode of communication might affect someone else’s perception of me positively and negatively. This is particularly important because I am an educator and businessman that relies heavily on my people skills. My professional survival depends on it.
I started carrying the pocket guide with me in my portfolio. I review it after my meetings and it’s amazing how “on point” the descriptors are and how easily I can pick out characteristics of different personalities with the people I encounter. I am confident this is going to be a great tool going back into follow-up meetings with those same folks.
Dr. Oaks did a wonderful job of capturing the most critical aspects of personality from the research. The colors make it easy to categorize traits encountered in my communication with people. I can envision tremendous success over time as I review and become more knowledgeable of the basics of the personality traits from these books. As for strategic planning, I envision this work as a great tool for engaging and moving people around objectives.
